July 4th festivities ready to burst

A whole slew full of July 4th events are on the horizon for those wanting to celebrate Independence Day this year.

Stephenville

Stephenville’s annual July 4th event ‘Stars Over Stephenville: a Fourth of July Celebration’ will include a day full of fun with a parade, activities and fireworks.

The annual parade will start at 9 a.m. Friday, July 4.

The deadline to register for the parade is Monday, June 30. To register call SPARD at 254918-1295 or go to https://www. stephenvilletexas. org/ events.

There is no fee to participate in the parade and admission for all events and concerts is also free. Parade check-in will begin at 7 a.m. at the City Park’s main entrance off of Graham St.

For those wanting to watch the parade, everyone is invited to bring their own chairs, blankets and water to stay hydrated. The parade route is from the South entrance of the park, turn North on Graham, then turn West on Washington and end at Harbin and Washington.

There will be food vendors at the City Park from noon to 10 p.m., lawnmower races from 1-5 p.m., inflatables and games on the lawn from 3-8 p.m., concerts from 6-9:30 p.m. with Presley Haile, Nick Brumley, Race Ricketts and Larry Joe Taylor performing. The concerts are held at the Birdsong Amphitheater at City Park.

Fireworks will kick off at 9:30 p.m.

The Stephenville City Park is located at 709 Riverside Dr, Stephenville, TX 76401.

Huckabay VFD

The Huckabay Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a fundraiser on July 5th with its Star Spangled Celebration from 4:30 – 9 p.m. with fireworks to follow.

The event will include a cornhole tournament, hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, tea, water, lemonade, waterslides, live music with the Tell Runyan Band from 7-9 p.m. and fireworks to follow.

Raffle tickets will be available for a landscaping set up including a zero turn mower and a trailer. Tickets are one for $20 or six for $100. Other raffles will be sold on site throughout the day of the event. All proceeds go to help fund a new truck.

The event will be held at the Huckabay Volunteer Fire Department located at 19909 N State Highway 108 outside Stephenville.

Hamilton

The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a 4th of July event Friday, July 4.

The event will kick off at 9 a.m. with the reading of the Declaration of Independence with free donuts on the Hamilton County Courthouse lawn.

At 6 p.m. there will be free hot dogs served by the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department and Brookshire Brothers and at dark there will be a fireworks show sponsored by Rancho del Oso and Haile Realty. Hotdogs and fireworks will take place at the Pecan Creek Park-Baseball Fields located at 400 S Pecan St., Hamilton, TX 76531.

Granbury

The 51st annual Fourth of July Hometown Celebration will take place Friday, July 4 through Sunday, July 6 on the square.

July 4th events include: 7:15 a.m. Kiwanis Firecracker 5K Run/ Walk at Tidwell Field, 9 a.m. parade beginning at Granbury High School and ending around the downtown square, vendors from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., 7 p.m. rodeo at Hood County Reunion Grounds, 7:30 p.m. Hairspray at Granbury Opera House, 9:45 p.m. fireworks over the lake (directly behind the Pearl Street Bridge).

July 5th events include: vendors 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Hairspray at Granbury Opera House, 7 p.m. rodeo at Hood County Reunion Grounds and 6-10 p.m. Street Dance at Bridge Street featuring Jadon Rogers and Josh Kennedy.

July 6th events: 10 a.m. Gospel Hour at Bridge Street featuring Brazos Entertainment Co., 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. vendors around the courthouse downtown and 2 p.m. Hairspray at Granbury Opera House.
