A grisly death in Comanche County is being investigated by the Texas Rangers.
On May 15, the Comanche County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an incident involving a person on fire on Highway 2823 near the borders of Comanche, Erath and Hamilton counties.
Gustine Volunteer Fire Department, Comanche County EMS and the Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
Texas Rangers are leading the investigation, as this is a multi-jurisdictional case, Comanche County Sheriff Chris Pounds said.
“There is no information to suggest any danger to citizens,” he said.
Comanche County Sheriff’s Office is working closely with the Rangers and other agencies involved in the investigation and will release information as it becomes available.
