SHIELDS
Hobby Leon Shields was born to Lula Bell Patrick and Giles Leon Shields in Meridian, Texas on Sept. 21, 1950. He went to his heavenly home on May 6, 2025 while at Medical City Hospital, Ft. Worth.
He worked for the road maintenance department in Cleburne for several years. Family and friends often commented on his “Green Thumb, plants and vegetables thrived under his care. If anyone in the family bought an old project car, they would take “Uncle Hobby” with them to ensure they made it back. He loved his family dearly, never missed a family gathering and always had a story to tell. He is preceded in death by his parents Lula Bell Patrick, Giles Leon Shields; brother Joe Shields, and son Justin Day Shields. He is survived by his sons Bobby Shields, Jeremy Shields and Christina Millican of Iredell; Ryan Shields and his wife Helen Shields of Iredell. Grandchildren Payton Shields, Billy Shields, Justin Shields, Brandon Shields, and Arber Shields. Sisters Patsy Owen and her husband Larry Owen of Iredell; Jimmie Ramsey and her late husband Jerry Ramsey of Iredell and Lana Shields wife of Joe Shields along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. It has been said “Uncle Hobby had a selfless soul, there was never a dull moment when in his presence and he will be missed dearly.” Celebration of Life services will be held May 31, 2025 at 1:30 pm at the Iredell Community City Center.
