Community members from throughout Erath County gathered at the courthouse in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 1 to celebrate National Day of Prayer. Groups went to all four corners of Stephenville to pray over the community as part of the event. National Day of Prayer was established in 1988 by Congress stating the first Thursday of May specifically specifying “the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals.”
