The Erath County Genealogical Society (ECGS) honored longtime volunteer Donna Whitefield during their regular meeting at Dublin Public Library Saturday, April 26 as she was presented with a brick in her honor for the library sidewalk.
“She has come faithfully, typically on Wednesday, for longer than any of us can figure out,” said ECGS’ Dana Herod. “She has helped so many people in so many ways. We don’t feel like we’re honoring her enough.”
In response to the honor, Whitefield said, “Thank you all very much. When Sheryl told me, it was such a sweet surprise and an honor. Thank you to the support of the Dublin Library. It is really a jewel.”
Refreshments were provided at the event by the Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club.
