Erath recovers after EF-1 tornado

A confirmed EF-1 tornado touched down in Erath County Saturday, April 19 in the south east part of the county.

A home was completely destroyed near FM 1824 south of Johnsville and fortunately the owners were not at home when the tornado occurred. Two families that attend Three Way ISD were impacted.

Per the National Weather Service Fort Worth office, the tornado had an estimated 110 mph winds and was an EF-1.

Donations are currently being accepted at Three Way ISD for the families.

There is also currently a fundraising raffle going on through Stephenville Youth Tackle Football. Raffle tickets are for two slabs of ribs, one pack of fajita meat, two packs of sausages and one brisket, and are one for $5 or five for $20.
