Easter events set, rain or shine

Body

Services and events have been set this Easter weekend to allow families to rejoice and remember.

Though there is rain in the forecast, the Dublin Easter EGGStravaganza and Bunny Love Run on Saturday, April 19 are taking place rain or shine. If raining, egg hunts will be staggered under the pavilions with face painting and vendors also under cover. If there is lightning, the egg hunt will be delayed for safety reasons with a post-Easter egg hunt Monday, April 21 at 6 p.m. in the park.  (Check the Dublin Citizen Facebook page for up-to-date information Saturday morning.)

The 4th annual hunt sponsored by the Dublin Dairy Queen, Dublin Citizen and CWJC/Transformation Pathway is partnered with a Bunny Love Run 5K and 1-mile fun.

Entry is $25 for the 5K and the race will begin and end at the City Park. The fun run is free.

To register online for the 5K go to racedayeventservices.com or call CWJC at 254-445-2228.

This is a timed race with multiple awards for age divisions. The race will begin at 8 a.m. and end in time for the annual hunt, which kicks off at 9:30 a.m. in the City Park.

Current sponsors for the race include HEB, Waste Management, First National Bank, IAA, Cottonwood Church, Calvary Fellowship, Cowboy Church of Erath and Dublin EDC.

For those interested in the egg hunts, more than 16,000 eggs will be scattered for four age groups from birth to sixth grade. There will also be free hot dogs, drinks, face painting, photos with the Easter Bunny and more. The entire event is free and the event will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with all hunts starting at 9:30 a.m.
