Question: Background/ education/family info?
Patrick: I was born here in Dublin in 1980. My father’s side of the family has been here in the Dublin/ Edna Hill area since the 1870’s. My mother’s side comes from Chihuahua, Mexico and has been here in Dublin since the mid 1970’s. My education is a GED and an Associate’s Degree. I would describe my political views as mighty conservative.
Question: What is your occupation? Are there skills involved in the work that will help in serving on city council?
Patrick: I work for Bradberry’s Best Feed Store. I’m a delivery driver and general hand there. My skills at work are hard work, duty, and common sense.
Question: What made you decide to run for the board?
Patrick: I decided to run for City Council due to seeing my home town a being set up for disaster by a good many of these big city type ideas. Take for example that blasted notion of a trailer park, 80 trailer houses on 10 acres. Thank the Lord we managed to defeat that one.
Question: In your opinion, what is something that needs to be changed?
Patrick: We need to fix up what we have and get it back to work as it was in the 1980’s and even before. It’s a shame we have so many vacant homes and vacant buildings downtown.
Question: What are some of your goals if elected?
Patrick: My goals are quite simple: I watched Dublin go from a town of many small businesses and less population to a town that has more population and less businesses. In short we need a real downtown and not a bunch of museums. We also need to do quite a bit of fixing up and enforcement of codes on some of these properties that are all but abandoned. We need to get downtown working again and we need to do something about these derelict properties.
