CCHF to host BBQ fundraiser in April
Would you like to get some good BBQ while supporting the Comanche County Healthcare Foundation? Orders will be open for the 5th annual Spring BBQ Fundraiser from April 1 to April 15.
Pitmasters are preparing brisket, spare ribs and pork loins that can be picked up curbside from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26. The Foundation’s event site is online on Handbid. com at https://events.handbid. com/auctions/5th-annual- all-fired-up-for-cchf. Donations can also be made on the site. Proceeds from the spring fundraiser support the patient care equipment needs of the CCMC Health System.

Genealogical Society to honor Donna Whitefield, host program
The Erath County Genealogical Society is inviting the public to two events at the Dublin Public Library Saturday, April 26.
Dublin Public Library, Erath County Genealogical Society, and Women's Thursday Club will honor volunteer Donna Whitefield at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26. The reception will be followed at 2 p.m. by a genealogy program. Lezlee Liljenberg, author of If You Only Knew: Navigating DNA Surprises and The NPE World (Not-Parent Expected) will share her personal discovery through DNA testing and how test results can be helpful in your genealogy research.
Knights of Columbus host Lenten Fish Fry Fridays
Council 10816 Knights of Columbus are hosting a fish fry meal Fridays through April 11 from 5-7 p.m. at Newman Hall in Stephenville.
Meals are $20 and include fried catfish, coleslaw, hushpuppies, french fries, dessert and tea.
Dine-in and take out is available and payments accepted include cash, check, debit cards and venmo.
Newman Hall is located at 1444 W. Washington Street in Stephenville.
Stars of Tomorrow set for Saturday
A Talent Show to aid Restoration Advocates is set for Saturday, April 12 at City Hall venue in Stephenville.
The show will feature a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. and the talent show will begin at 7 p.m. featuring young stars ages 9-21.
Restoration Advocates is a shelter providing hope for families overcoming domestic violence.
Comanche Museum to host Frontier Day Saturday
The Comanche County Museum is excited to announce Frontier Day 2025, a family-friendly celebration of history and heritage, taking place from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 12. Come rain or shine, this event at 402 Moorman Rd. in Comanche welcomes all to enjoy a day filled with fun, education and community spirit.
Frontier Day promises an array of engaging activities and exhibits.
At the event there will be face painting for kids and kids-at-heart, storytelling by Deborah Nowlin Keith, accompanied by her mule and sidekick, Dee Dee and a new display of John Wesley Hardin memorabilia, on loan from a partnering museum.
Also at the event there will be a military display by Kevin & Cris in the historic T.O. Moore cabin, a Chuck Wagon and a rare 1905 Cadillac on exhibit, a petting zoo featuring 4-H animals, indoor activities with Granny, a special visit from Cowboy Bill at 2 p.m., family board games for all ages and an
interactive touch screen experience kiosk with newly added information and pictures.
Refreshments will be available throughout the event. Parking is conveniently located at the rear, west side of the building. Donations are greatly appreciated to support the museum’s ongoing efforts.
