Dublin FFA places high at Tarleton

As 10,000 students swarmed Tarleton for the 53rd annual Tarleton State University Invitational FFA contest March 27, Dublin students claimed some high placements in large competition.

Leading the pack was the Dublin Entomology Team who placed 1st out of 120 teams. David Greene placed third out of 412 individuals in the contest while Anabel Phelps placed 10th, Alma Holguin placed 14th, NavaLee White placed 26th, and Keighly Lewis placed 43rd.

This first place finish resulted in a $1,000 Tarleton Scholarship for Dublin FFA.

The Milk Quality team placed 13th out of 121 teams. Out of 434 individuals, Vanessa Pantoja placed 14th, and Paul Adams placed 26th. Teammates are Aiden Bushman, Jayden Rojas and Jena Sorrells.

The Dairy Cattle team placed 39th out of 158 teams. Bailey Watson placed 7th individually out of 564 total judgers! Teammates are Caden Vanbebber, Jitse DeBoer and Ernesto Lopez.

The Homesite team was 30th out of 82 teams. Team members are Daniel Staud, David Hernandez, and Silvestre Ramirez.

The Wildlife team placed 40th out of 102 teams. Team members are Jake Southall, Trevor Williams, Nicole Foster, Paxton Loper and Mason Williams.

Also competing for Dublin FFA were: The Land team of Ethan Whitaker, Issac Puerta, Tony Ortiz and Eloy Vargas.

The Vet Science team of Abby Marett, Paige McNutt, Hailie Whitworth, Brecedes Rojas and Brittney Everett.
