Those wanting to vote in the May 3 Dublin City Council race must be registered to vote by Thursday, April 3.
To register to vote in Texas, complete a voter registration application and return it to your county election office at least 30 days before the upcoming election date. In Erath County, the elections office is located in the new county annex at 222 East College St. in Stephenville.
To complete an application, you may: Complete an application using the Secretary of State Online Voter Registration Application.
Simply fill in the required information, print, sign and mail the completed application directly to your county election office; Request a printed application. The Secretary of State’s office will mail a postage-paid voter registration application to the address provided; or contact or visit your local voter registrar to complete the voter registration process.
To be eligible for registration as a voter in this state, a person must:
■ be a United States citizen;
■ be a resident of the county where you submit the application;
■ be at least 17 years and 10 months old on the date your voter registration application is submitted, and you are 18 years of age on Election Day;
■ not have been determined by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be:
■ totally mentally incapacitated; or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote;
■ not have been finally convicted of a felony or, if so convicted, must have:
■ fully discharged the person’s sentence, including any term of incarceration, parole, or supervision, or completed a period of probation ordered by any court; or been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disability to vote. The only items on the ballot are three city council positions.
For Place 1, Bo Kabala, Patrick Salyer and Homi Limbuwala will be seeking the seat.
For Place 3, incumbent councilmember Darren Turley is unopposed.
For Place 5, incumbent city councilmember Sammy Moore will face off against challenger Dalton Harris.
Since there are limited elections, there will only be voting in Dublin and Bluff Dale.
Early voting will take place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 through Friday, April 25 and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, April 28-29 at the Dublin Annex located at 219 S. Grafton.
Voting on the Bluff Dale bond can be done at Bluff Dale ISD located at 710 Church Street in Bluff Dale.
Election Day voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at the same two locations.
There will be no voting in Stephenville and races for Dublin ISD school board were uncontested, as were Stephenville City Council and Stephenville ISD school board.
