“If I could put the season into one word it would be “compete,” said Dublin Lions head basketball coach Wes Grisham following the end of their season in the bidistrict playoffs Feb. 19.

The game was rescheduled from Feb. 18 due to bad weather in Mineral Wells the night before.

“Every game our guys faced they came out and competed, they were hungry!”

“We had some games that we needed to work on consistency but through and through they found ways to win big games and learned the value of tenacity,” he added “I was blessed to coach these guys and have watched the seniors grow since Junior High. I know they’re going to do great things after high school and can’t wait to hear about their success.”

The Dublin boys faced City View in Mineral Wells for the playoff, keeping a close score for the first half.

“Our missed free throws held us back early in the game which gave them some separation,” said Grisham. “The second half was hard with two of our starters getting into foul trouble.”

Grisham said the team also suffered from not getting calls when Dublin had the ball.

The game closed in City View’s favor, 105-61.

Hunter Jones led Dublin scoring with 20 points followed by Kaden Gaitan with 12.

Alex Teten and Jorge Solis scored 7 points each.

Kyler Gaitan had 6. Sev Ruiz and DJ Ferguson scored 4 each and Ivan Phelps scored 1.
