Lingleville Cardinal fans were given a spectacle as the No. 21 Cardinals took on the No. 6 Huckabay Indians Tuesday, Jan. 14 in a game that was decided in overtime.
“It ultimately came to a couple fatal errors in the final minutes of regulation that ended up sending us into overtime and us losing 41-39 in OT,” said head Lingleville boys basketball coach Garrett Stewart. “I could not be more proud of these boys and how hard they worked Tuesday night. They did everything right, executed the game plan perfectly, and held all but 1 of their leading scorers to single digits. It just wasn’t our night.”
Stewart said his players are already counting the days until their next matchup.
The Cardinals were led by Issac Martinez with 22, Jorge Toledo with 8 and Garrett Hurt with 5.
