Lifters place in packed meet

Dublin Secondary School’s gym was packed Saturday, Jan. 18 as the Lions hosted its invitational powerlifting meet to kick off the season.

Topping Dublin’s results was Cassidy Adair, who took gold in the girls’ 198 with a total lift of 875 pounds (320 in squat, 235 in bench and 320 in dead lift.)

The following Lions and Lady Lions garnered silver with their lifts: ■ Alonso Moreno in the boys’ 165 with a total of 1,320 (540 squat, 300 bench, 480 DL)

■ Luis Elicerio in the SHW with 945 (320 squat, 245 bench, 380 DL) ■ Samantha Martinez in the girls’ 97 with a total of 385 (145 squat, 65 bench, 175 DL)

■ Jaylie Wiliams in the girls’ 148 with a total of

585 (230 squat, 95 bench,

260 DL) Also finishing high in the placements were: ■ Paul Adams, 3rd in the boys’ 114 with 575 (205 squat, 130 bench, 240 DL)

■ Alex Olvera, 4th in the boy’s 123 with 520 (165 squat, 95 bench, 260 DL)

■ Chloe Sullivan, 4th in the girls’ 198 with 380 (145 squat, 65 bench, 170 DL)

■ Malakai Thompson, 6th in the boy’s 132 with 600 (190 squat, 130 bench,

280 squat)

■ Jayden Balvantin, 6th in the boys’ 275 with 1,040 (415 squat, 245 bench,

380 DL)

■ Candy Rodriguez, 6th in the girls’ 165 with 595 (235 squat, 165 bench,

195 DL)

■ David Greene, 7th in the boys’ 132 with 550 (200 squat, 110 bench, 240 DL)

■ Nomi Thompson, 7th in the girls’ 132 with 475 (185 squat, 85 bench, 205 DL)

■ Ayleen Mendoza, 7th in the girls’ 181 with 510 (185 squat, 105 bench,
