Dublin received about an inch of snow alongside brutally cold temperatures lasting for several days. Dublin High School advanced 15 band students to State Solo and Ensemble Contest after they earned Division 1 ratings at Region contest at Stephenville Feb. 24, 2024. Dublin elementary students expressed awe and delight as they watched the total solar eclipse from the playground April 8, 2024. Winners from the Miss Dublin, Junior Miss Dublin and Little Miss Dublin pageants (Dublin Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors) rode on a parade float in the June 2024 School Spirit Parade. Volunteers showed up in force for a Revitalize Dublin workday project to aid a neighbor living on Camden Street with tree trimming and clean up. Bobber, the Water Safety Dog exhibited the proper way to wear a life vest to a crowd of more than 60 kids and parents during a water safety program at Dublin Public Library May 30, 2024.

January 2024
Visitors to  the 2024 Erath County Jr. Livestock Show could pick up some premium concessions that benefitted two Dublin ministries - Calvary Fellowship’s Feed My Sheep and Transformation Pathway CWJC.
 

Members of the Dublin Disc Golf Club participated in the Club Championship Jan. 20, 2024 at the City Park in Dublin. More than 30 participants braved cold air to have a shot at a variety of prizes.


February 2024
Guests at the Fourth Annual Better Beginnings Brunch for Cross Timbers Family Services ‘talked teal’ this year, which is the color for National Sexual Assault Awareness month. The event was held in a new location, at the Barry B. Thompson Student Center Ballroom at Tarleton State University Jan. 27, 2024.


Parents watched their daughters as well as volunteers associated with the Little Miss Dublin pageant on their first rehearsal of the pageant season during February 2024. Rehearsals were held each Sunday and the young ladies participated in a tea party for the younger girls and a reception for the older participants.


Dublin High School senior (now graduate) Aiden Salyer was selected to play on the Blue Football Team for the 2024 Brownwood Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star Festival last year.


Emergency services spent more than three hours Feb. 15, 2024 on scene at a house fire at 426 W. Mesquite. The home was a complete loss and the fire was ruled accidental.

March 2024
Young Little Miss Dublin Contestants enjoyed a tea party fit for a princess arranged by pageant organizers March 3, 2024 at the Station where they enjoyed snacks, crafts, and of course, crowns. 


Dublin Public Library hosted special events throughout spring break. On March 12, 2024 a gamer party was hosted featuring a brand new ‘Whack a Mole’ style game brought in by Mr. P’s Party Rental.

NavaLee White was crowned as 2024 Miss Dublin. Last year due to community support, Miss Dublin received a $1,250  scholarship, 1st runner up $750 and 2nd runner up $500.

April 2024
Kids of all ages counted their eggs at the annual Dublin Easter Eggstravaganza and showed off prizes. Donors throughout the community ensured there were plenty of eggs at the event - 16,500 were collected and filled at the 2024 event.


Dublin elementary students expressed awe and delight as they watched the total solar eclipse from the playground April 8, 2024. Throughout town people enjoyed watching the total solar eclipse including special events at the school district and at the Dublin Public Library.


Advocates against violent crimes marched around the Erath County courthouse at Stop the Silence in observance of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, held April 21-27, 2024. Stop the Silence is an annual event organized by Cross Timbers Family Services to allow community members to stand together against violent crimes.


The Dublin FFA Entomology team placed third out of 63 teams at the State Contest in Lubbock in April 2024. David Greene tied for 4th out of 239 individuals and took home the 6th place plaque as a result of a coin toss! Teammates were Alma Holguin (12th), Mariana Ortiz (32nd), and Anabel Phelps (36th), with alternate NavaLee White. 

May 2024
Revitalize Dublin organizers Carmen Andersen and Lori Beggs took a break in the live music April 27, 2024, to give away door prizes. The newly certified nonprofit raised $7,000 for its first fundraiser to use on community projects to beautify the community. Live music was provided by One Headlight, a 90’s rock cover band at Backwoods. The funds raised were ultimately utilized to put new seasonal banners in the downtown area.

Dublin Seniors (now graduates) Madison Turley and Elijah Gonzales were crowned as Prom Queen and King at the annual prom May 11, 2024, at Double N Cowboy Church.

2024 Athletes of the  Year were Yesenia Osoria (also Outstanding Female Runner, Most Valuable Runner - Cross Country, High Point Female Runner - Track)  & Cameron Patton (also Outstanding Lifter, Most Valuable Player - Baseball, Outstanding Runner - Track). The award was presented by The Dublin Citizen at the annual Sports Banquet in May 2024.

Chamber of Commerce members, STAR Council, local businesses, resident and library fans joined Dublin Public Library Director Adina Dunn as she cut the ribbon at the library May 18, 2024 in recognition of the beginning of Summer Reading activities and the renovations completed in December. 

June 2024

Winners from the Miss Dublin, Junior Miss Dublin and Little Miss Dublin pageants (Dublin Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors) ride on a parade float in the 2024 School Spirit Parade. The parade was held in conjunction with the Hearts Home Dublin All Class Reunion.

Runners in the Lions Club Irish Stampede 5K and 10K rush through the gate June 8, 2024.

Winners of the tinfoil hat contest show off their best signal-blocking styles during an event in honor of the 133rd anniversary of a reported UFO explosion over the William T. Miller Grist Mill. The event was held June 15, 2024 alongside the monthly Dublin Market Day farmers market in Wright Park.
