A local pastry prodigy will hit primetime Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. central as 11-year-old Stephenville resident Micah Parsons is competing in the new season of Kids Baking Championship on Food Network.
The new season is dubbed ‘Amazing Animals’ with challenges based around a wide variety of critters, many of which make appearances in the studio throughout the season.
In promoting the show, Parsons was asked the reason he started baking. He responded: “I live on 150 acres of farm, and my chickens lay so many eggs, I had to do something with them. That something was baking.”
“I love baking and I just love animals,” he added.
The Stephenville baker will be competing alongside 11 other kids from around the nation and Canada for the title of Kids Baking Champion, a feature in Food Network Magazine and $25,000.
Kids Baking Championship is hosted by Duff Goldman and Kardea Brown, who also judge the kids’ creations each episode. Each episode will premiere on Food Network and be available to stream on MAX the next day.
