The Lingleville School Board swore in new members, elected officers, heard the total from the annual Halloween Carnival and FFA accomplishments during the regular Thursday, Nov. 21 board meeting.
After Canvassing the Nov. 5 general elections, oaths of office were administered for new members Andrew Grimm, Jerod James and Justin Wilson.
President Brent Hallmark thanked Scotty Whitefield for his service as he stepped down and also thanked Sonya Koke and Larry Griffin for their years of service.
The reorganization prompted the election of officers with unanimous votes for Hallmark as president, Tyler Howle as vice president and Jay Procter as treasurer.
During regular reports, the unofficial total from the 2024 Halloween Carnival was $62,407 with the school still receiving some funds from senior auctions.
Board members asked about fundraiser benefits and it was reported that the proceeds are split among classes based upon their participation.
Principal Brian Sanders also reported that Lingleville sent 25 FFA students for district competition with several placing high.
Placing second and advancing to Area is the Senior Chapter Conducting team of Virginia Bivens, Marti Luttrell, Alexa Aviles, Brody Hurt, Elly McDowell, Ally Alarcon and Abigail Ponce DeLeon.
Also advancing is Piper Rives, who placed third in Greenhand FFA Creed Speaking.
The Agriculture Advocacy team of Madison Howle, Emma Hudson and Jellie Waterlander placed fourth.
The Senior Ag/FFA Quiz team placed fifth. Members were: Marti Luttrell (4th high individual), Alexa Aviles, Virginia Bivens, Ally Alarcon, John Koke and Elly McDowell.
Also placing fifth was the Greenhand Chapter Conducting team of Kaitlyn Kolb, Bryln Kirchenschlager, Laura Willman, Marely Garcia, Matthew McDowell, Laramie Parks and Amelia Finney.
Juan Carlos Sucuqui placed 5th in Greenhand Spanish FFA Creed speaking.
Placing 6th was: the Greenhand Radio Broadcasting team of Kaitlyn Kolb, Teagan Woodall and Ava Mendez; Zaidan Meyers in Job Interview; and Giselle Azua in Senior Spanish FFA Creed speaking.
The Greenhand FFA Quiz team placed 7th with members Laura Willman, Marely Garcia, Matthew McDowell, Laramie Park, Bryln Kirchenschlager and Amelia Finney.
The Senior Radio Broadcasting team of Brody Hurt, Jellie Waterlander and Jaxson Rives placed 9th.
Abigail Ponce DeLeon placed 15th in Senior FFA Creed Speaking.
