Stephenville Cattle Company is gathering up items for its annual Round-Up for Rehab Special Auction and Gun Raffle at noon Saturday, Oct. 26.
This is the 45th year that the cattle company has held the event benefitting the West Texas Rehabilitation Center. Last year, they helped raise $20,000 for the charity. Sales from the auction help the center provide patient services to children and adults, regardless of financial circumstances. (For more information, visit westtexasrehab.org) Organizers Troy and Cheryl Moore report there are already a lot of great items lined up including a Blackstone Grill including an air fryer with a warming drawer donated by The Dowell Company/Ace Hardware, 20 bags of cubes from Farley Feed, afghans and throws and more. They are also seeking more items including cakes and pies to maximize their efforts. Cakes or pies can be donated the day of the auction or in advance by calling 254-968-4844.
Also benefitting the charity will be the auction of two shotguns (a 12-gauge Winchester with a 28” barrel and 500 Super Bantam 20/22 ‘Muddy Girl’) and two BB guns. Entries are $5 each or three for $10.
The auction will be preceded by a free meal at 11 a.m. featuring brisket, sausage, beans and banana pudding as well as milk and ice cream donated by Dairy Max. Troy will be serving his world class fried bologna as always.
Those in attendance can also meet country music sensation Jake Hooker, who was inducted into the 2024 Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame with the Star of Texas Award as an entertainer who promotes and values the Rodeo Cowboys and their way of life.
