This weekend there will be something for everyone as the annual Comanche Pow Wow event takes place Saturday, Sept. 28-29 at Comanche City Park Admission is $5 per person with free parking and free shuttles.
Gates are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
There will be more than 100 artisan craft and food vendors at the event. On Saturday, there is the largest classic car and motorcycle show in Central Texas and the 43rd annual Barnie McBee BBQ Cookoff presented by Central Texas Farm Credit.
Sahawee Indian Dance Performances will be held at noon, 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday.
There are many other items taking place at the event including free pony rides, free Heart of Nature Center Falcon display, free ag land for kids, free Noah’s Way petting zoo, free bounce houses, Texas Living history, Texas Department of Transportation rollover display, Photography and Art Show in the community center, mechanical bull, axe throwing and much more!
On Sunday, there will be a Beat the Heat Pepper Contest at 1:45 p.m. and Legion Slingers Cornhole Tournament starting at 10 a. m.
During the pepper eating contest, there will be 10 rounds of hot peppers with the first place winner receiving $200 and second place receiving $100.
There will also be a church service by East Side Baptist Church on the Tellus Stage from 10:30 a.m. to noon and a Spanish language service from 10:30 a.m. to Noon by Abiding Life Fellowship at the Texas Bank Stage.
