Tarleton State University will celebrate 125 Years of Excellence Sept. 3 with a commemorative ceremony followed by an anniversary celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. in Heritage Park.
The public is invited to join in the family-friendly campus festivities in Heritage Park and the O.A. Grant Green Space, which will feature inflatables, games, food trucks and cupcakes.
The celebration kicks off a season of activities honoring the history and cherished traditions of the university and its esteemed visionary, John Tarleton, who founded the institution in 1899. Upcoming events include Family Weekend Sept. 27-28 and Homecoming Week Oct. 6-12. The anniversary celebration aligns with the first year of NCAA Division I championship eligibility as well as the 89th Texas Legislative Session.
Tarleton State has stood as a beacon of academic excellence and community engagement for 125 years, weaving a rich tapestry of tradition and innovation.
