This Saturday, Dublin’s school spirit will be in full force with the annual Dublin Area Reunion and Irish Stampede which are being bolstered by several Chamber of Commerce offerings.
“We wanted to help draw people in and keep them around after the reunion’s over,” said Chamber President Stephen McNutt.
Irish Stampede
Saturday, June 8 will kick off with the Dublin Irish Stampede 10K-5K-2K Run hosted by the Dublin Lions Club. Participation in either the 10K or 5K runs are $30 and $20 for the 2K run.
The run is being held in conjunction with Dublin’s celebration of National Dairy Month.
On race day, registration is from 6 – 7:15 a.m. beside the Dublin Public Library with the 10K/5K starting at 7:30 a.m. followed by the 2K start.
Early packet pick up will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 7 at Dublin Public Library.
Cash prizes and awards will be available for the top three (both male and female) overall winners.
Age groups are 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
Proceeds will go to support the activities of the Dublin Lions Club throughout the coming year. An example of how the Lions Club helps includes sending physically challenged and diabetic children, at no charge, to week long Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, Ice Cream Float Party for over 450 kids and camp, and work with elementary students to reveal undetected eye problems.

Reunion
Also on June 8, the annual Hearts & Home Dublin Area Reunion, hosted by the Dublin Historical Society, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Station Community Building located on North Patrick between Dairy Queen and First National Bank.
The event’s corporate sponsor is First National Bank. Everyone is welcome at the event regardless of being a resident, native or someone who just loves Dublin.
A $10 lunch will be served with proceeds benefitting the historical society.
Chamber events
At 10:30 a.m. there will be a School Spirit Parade hosted by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. Parade line up will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Elementary School Football Field.

The parade route will be the common town parade route down Patrick and Blackjack Streets.
At 11:30 a.m. there will also be a Car Show on Elm Street and Grafton Street.
A portion of Elm will be blocked off for event visitors as Vendors open at 12:30 p.m., offering a variety of food and wares. Vendors looking to join can still register can register online at dublintxchamber.com.
From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Andrea Goodman will be performing live at Celebration Park next to Dublin Bottling Works while the Chamber will serve beverages at Rod McNeal’s building on the corner of Elm and Grafton across the street. Patrons over 21 can purchase draft beer. (Those buying beer will be presented with a wristband and must carry within the designated event area). McNutt said they have been meeting and working with Dublin PD to ensure a safe and fun time for all.
Things Celtic will also be having live music by Christine Anderson inside the store with 10% off items.
