Graduation is right around the corner and Dublin’s top two grads have been named.
Mariana Ortiz was named as the Dublin High School Class of 2024 Valedictorian and Karina Ortega as the class Salutatorian.
Ortiz is the daughter of Antonio Ortiz. She will be attending the University of Texas at Dallas with plans to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with an emphasis on pre-med studies to use towards a Doctorate of Medicine to become a pediatrician.
Though education has taken priority, Ortiz has been involved in many extracurricular activities including serving as Student Council President, FFA President, Vice President for National Honor Society, serving on Junior Bank Board for First National Bank and was a State Qualifier for both FCCLA and FPS.
She also was top powerlifter in the state and will graduate high school with an Associate’s Degree from Ranger College and her EMS certification.
Ortega is the daughter of Gaby and Bernando Ortega.
She is planning on attending the University of Texas at Arlington to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Ortega is a National Honor Society member, participates in WIT and is on Student Council. She will graduate high school with an Associate’s Degree from Ranger College.
Dublin ISD will host their graduation Friday, May 24 at Bob and Norma Cervetto Field. Graduation is open to all friends and family and kicks off at 7 p.m. Dublin’s final day of school is this Monday, May 20 with early release at 1:15 p.m. for elementary and intermediate school and secondary release at 1:20 p. m.
Lingleville ISD will also host their graduation at 7 p.m. Friday, May 24 at the high school gymnasium. Graduation is open to all family and friends. Lingleville’s final day of school is Friday, May 17 with field day for the elementary and intermediate schools.
