Sales tax up for June in Dublin

Dublin sales tax collections were up significantly in June, 31.42% compared to June 2024, according to the state sales tax report released by Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock.For the month of June, Dublin received $77,483.42 compared to $58,956.26 in June 2024.

Tiny Treasures Art in Miniatures opens Aug. 12 Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council will open its new exhibit 'Tiny Treasures Art in Miniatures' Aug. 12 through Aug. 29 at its Gallery on the Square in downtown Stephenville.The artist reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21.

Tarleton State University Career Services will host a come-and-go job fair Monday, Aug. 25, to connect students with local businesses seeking part-time employees.The job fair, open to all current Tarleton State students, starts at noon in the Barry B.

FFA hosting hunter class

Dublin FFA will be hosting a hunter education course Saturday, Aug. 16 at 8 a.m. in the DHS Ag building.This course is designed for novice or young hunters, ages 9 years and above. The course covers the core competencies of firearm and hunting safety, hunting ethics and wildlife conservation.

Deer symposium scheduled Aug. 29 in Robstown

New World screwworm and chronic wasting disease will be part of a comprehensive look at white- tailed deer management practices throughout the Coastal Bend region during a symposium on Aug. 29 in Robstown.The event is hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
