Three Dublin High School graduates were recognized as Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, announced the students achieving the Dean’s List designation for the 2021 spring semester.

Guests to Wright Historic Park Saturday survey homemade baked goods and preserves during the monthly Dublin Market Days. The farmers market is usually held on the third Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., but was held this past Saturday to coincide with the other weekend events.

EDC to consider grants

Grant applications will highlight the monthly meeting of the Dublin Economic Development Corp. at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the EDC office.

Museum hosting military vehicle show

In a partnership with the Arrowhead Chapter of the MVPA (Military Vehicle Preservation Association), the National Health & Public Safety History Museum in downtown Dublin will be hosting a Military Vehicle Show on June 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

FBC to host mobile vaccine clinic

Dublin First Baptist Church (220 E. Live Oak) is hosting a free COVID-19 Pfizer Vaccine pop-up clinic on June 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The clinic is being conducted by Texas Health Resources and is open to all persons 12 and older. Minors ages 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

100 years ago June 17, 1921 Dublin’s third Dollar Day specials were listed. Businesses such as Higginbotham Bros & Co., Dublin Drug & Jewelry, NOVIT Cash Store, Hoffman’s, East Side Grocery Co., Wilhite & Fulford and Overton Drug Company advertised items that would be on sale.

Comanche Chief The Comanche County Library has a new director. Deborah Hanson has taken up the position after the retirement of Hollis McCaright. Hanson has participated as a library assistant at the Comanche Public Library over the last year.

POLICE LOG

June 7 Reporting person came into the station to report that her dog was bit by another dog as they were walking on Valley. An officer advised that he would go on patrol to see if he could find the animal and make contact with the owner and take further action.

SHERIFF’S REPORT

June 5 At 8:08 p.m. a motorcycle hydroplaned into a tree and came to rest up against a fence on Hwy 220 leaving the driver in shock and delirious but not injured. At 9:40 p.m. two bed mattresses were removed from the roadway of 377 South. At 11:43 p.m.
