With early summer upon us, we are entering the time of year that baby animals are born. I wanted to put together a quick note of what to do when you come across injured or possibly orphaned wildlife. I know it is human nature to want to take in injured or orphaned wildlife.

May 2 Dublin PD was contacted about a horse running loose on E. Clinton. A caller issued a loud music complaint in the vicinity of N. Park Street. May 4 Comanche County requested assistance to locate a vehicle with a male subject that has felony warrants out of the county.

Man arrested in shooting

On May 11, Erath County Sheriffs office investigators wrote a warrant of arrest for Garrett Frye for Deadly Conduct. The warrant was issued after investigators determined probable cause to believe he shot a firearm inside a vehicle occupied by a mother and her two children.

Irish Stampede returns to Dublin on June 11

Dublin Lions Club is hosting the 21st annual Irish Stampede the second weekend in June in honor of local dairy farmers since June is dairy month. The run - a 10-5-2K race, will be on a certified course with the 10 and 5K races to start at 7:30 a.m.

Memorial Day event set for Library

A Flag Raising Service will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial on Memorial Day, May 30th. The 9 a.m. Service will honor those who have lost their lives while serving their country in the military. The event is sponsored by the Dublin American Legion #219 and the Dublin Historical Society.
