Hoppin’ to summer reading

Miss Emily, the Creature Teacher, visited the Dublin Public Library Thursday, June 2 to take kids and adults on a trip around the world with animals from Mexico, South America, England, Asia, Africa and Australia.

Abbott visits area for fire declaration

Governor Greg Abbott along with many other officials gave an update on the Chalk Mountain Fire in Somervell County which occurred over the weekend of July 22. Area fire departments assisted with the large fire as the ongoing drought continued to wreak havoc on the area.

Backpacks, bubbles and books

Left, kids played in the foam at the Back-to-School Fair at the Dublin Public Library Saturday, July 30. With a wide variety of donations from the surrounding communities, 200 free backpacks and school supplies were given away at the event.

Honor and Respect

Left, Dublin EMS drove in the funeral procession for Andrew Dean, a 21 year-old firefighter paramedic who had worked for the department for several months. He was killed in a motorcycle accident on August 1.

Police Log

There was a report of a disturbance in the 300 block of Eagle Street. An officer checked out on a suspicious vehicle and everything was OK in the 200 block of Johnson Street. There was a report of a storage unit broken into at Central Inn storage.
