September will offer several events and citizens are encouraged to mark their calendars now.Rylan’s Colors for Courage will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Dublin Public Library.

Road use agreement approved for battery storage

Commissioners Court approved a road use agreement between the county and Lucky Bluff Bess, LLC. for use of County Road 300 and CR 299 to put in a battery storage facility.

Historian, author to speak Aug. 22 at Library Erath County native and author of Kenny-Colwell: The History of an Early Texas Family, Mary Jo Kenny will speak at the Dublin Public Library at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22.

Hunter safety course set Saturday

A Hunter Education safety course is being hosted at the Dublin High School Ag Building Saturday, Aug. 24 and is open to the public. It will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a break at noon for lunch.FFA advisor Derek Dunlap will be leading the class and is in his 16th year of teaching it.
A total of 11 Dublin FFA students competed in the calf scramble during the Aug. 17 UPRA rodeo hosted by Byrn Rodeo Productions at the Dublin City Park Arena. Kids who caught a calf during the event received either a $250 check for their project or a scholarship. Winners of the event included: Juan Macias, Bailey Watson, NavaLee White and Anabelle Delgado. Double N to host Family Fun Day

Double N Cowboy Church’s fall series of their Family Fun Days start at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 when the books open for an evening of rodeo fun in the Double N Arena.Events starting at 7:30 p.m. include barrels, poles and more. Fun, food and drinks will also be served!

Dublin sales tax down in June

Dublin sales tax collections were down significantly in June at -10.94%, compared to June 2023, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar.For the month of June, Dublin received $58,956.26, compared to $66,203.81 in June 2023.
