On March 2, 2022 at approximately 10:15 p. m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a one vehicle fatality crash on US Highway 281 near Morgan Mill in Erath County.
Preliminary investigation indicates a 2010 Acura passenger vehicle was traveling north on US 281. For an undetermined reason, the Acura left the roadway onto the northbound shoulder. The driver, 49-yearold David L. Richards, of Granbury, overcorrected causing the vehicle to travel across US 281 onto the southbound shoulder where the Acura struck a tree. Richards was pronounced deceased at the scene.
