Weekend of fun set for Dublin

Body

Dublin is facing a big weekend with the grand opening/reopening of five businesses, the chance to win a 65 inch TV, the opening of the city pool and a City-Wide Garage Sale. (See Page B6 for more info on garage sale.)

Ribbon cutting will be held regularly starting at 9 a.m. to mark the opening of the businesses including the following in the 100 block of Grafton: Little Authors, Austin Street Fabrics, Happy Belly Deli (in the Grafton Market) and Studio 6:14 Dance in the Grafton Events Center. A ribbon cutting will also be held for 1.21Gigawaats Antiques (408 E. Blackjack).

Kids can get in the fun starting at 9 a.m. as bounce houses will be set up around town and the Dublin Volunteer Fire Department will appear to provide some water fun. There are also plans for face painting, live music and more.

In conjunction with the event, Dublin shoppers will also get a raffle ticket for a 65” TV for every purchase they make over $10 in Dublin stores. Those who purchase something at every shop will also get another 10 tickets entered and those who eat at a Dublin exclusive restaurant get an additional three. (More information will be available at the Grafton businesses on Saturday morning.)

There will also be a meet and greet with Chamber of Commerce directors from 11 a.m. to noon at the Grafton Center and registration for Studio 6:16 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

(See more info on the new businesses in next week’s edition)

Those needing to cool off can do so cheaply Saturday as the City Pool is opening with penny day from noon to 5 p.m. Regular hours for the pool will be Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

The regular price this year will be $3 per person per day. Children two and under and non-swimmers can enter for free.

Pool parties are also available in nightly two ($120) and four hour ($240) blocks Tuesday through Sunday. Call (254) 445-3331 for more information and availability.
