For those who are registered to vote and had cards that expired Dec. 31, 2025, Erath County Elections is still awaiting when new cards will be mailed out.

“While this delay is very frustrating, all affected voters remain fully registered to vote, and no action is required on their part. The State implemented a major software redevelopment of the voter registration system that, as you can imagine, has not come without implementation issues and delays. The State is working with the vendor to resolve this issue,” Erath County Elections Administrator Lana Stevens said. “Our priority is ensuring that every voter has what they need to participate in the election process with confidence. Although new voter registration cards are arriving later than planned, voters’ registration status is secure. Voters who have completed the registration process are officially registered, even if their physical card has not yet been delivered. Individuals may confirm their registration status at any time through the Secretary of State’s official election website VoteTexas.gov or by calling our office at 254965-8990.”

As a reminder, an acceptable form of photo ID is all that is required to vote, you do not have to present your card at time of voting. “Our office will continue providing updates as new information becomes available. We remain committed to transparency, timely communication, and supporting every voter throughout the election process,” Stevens said.
