Universities recognize locals

Several local students were recently honored by their respective universities.

University of Maryland

Nichole Lee Fouse of Dublin, earned a Bachelor of Science Magna Cum Laude in Cybersecurity Technology from University of Maryland Global Campus in Fall 2025.

Fouse was one of more than 6,400 students worldwide who earned degrees from UMGC in the fall 2025 term.

Texas Woman’s University Edith Luna of Stephenville was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at Texas Woman’s University.

Luna is among approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

University of Arkansas

The University of Arkansas is recognizing students for earning a place on the Fall 2025 Chancellor’s List, the university’s highest semester academic honor for undergraduates.

Lane Campbell of Stephenville joins a select group of students who have achieved a 4.0 grade-point average for the semester while completing at least 12 credit hours of coursework required for graduation.

Zeke Stutler of Stephenville has been named to the University of Arkansas Dean’s List for the 2025 Fall Semester.

Stutler joins a distinguished group of students recognized for outstanding academic achievement by earning a grade-point average of 3.753.99 during the semester while completing at least 12 credit hours required for graduation.

University of Alabama

Mary Caroline Barberee was named to The University of Alabama Dean’s List for Fall Semester 2025.

The UA dean’s and president’s lists recognize fulltime undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Midwestern State University Midwestern State University recently named Marisa Arreola and Camryn Plaxco to the Provost’s Honor Roll.

A student who completes 12 hours in one semester with a grade point average of 3.75 to 3.99 and no grade lower than C will be included on the Provost’s Honor Roll. The student cannot have semester grades of I, WF or NC.

University of Mississippi Autry Russell, of Stephenville, TX, was named to the University of Mississippi’s Fall 2025 Honor Roll lists.

Russell, in the B.A. in Biological Science program, was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.50-3.74.
