Those living near North Grafton may have been concerned with a heavy police presence last Tuesday that ultimately ended with two arrests.
Police urged everyone to avoid the area through a social media post during the evening hours of Tuesday, June 3, later stating the police activity had been resolved and there was no danger to the public.
According to a press release given by Dublin Police Chief Cameron Ray, officers were dispatched to a reported disturbance in the 200 block of North Grafton involving a suspect refusing to exit the residence.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with individuals at the scene and began working to deescalate the situation.
Due to the nature of the call, additional assistance was requested.
After approximately two hours of negotiations, and with the support of Erath County Precinct I Constable Jason Schipper, the subject was peacefully taken into custody without further incident.
As a result of the operation, Christopher Taylor was arrested for assault causing bodily injury – family member and Nathaniel Taylor was arrested for Terroristic Threat – Family Member.
“We remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” Ray said. “The Dublin Police Department would like to thank the Erath County Sheriff’s Office, Dublin EMS, Erath County Precinct I Constable Jason Schipper, and the community for their support and assistance during this operation. Interagency cooperation and public support remain vital to maintaining safety and peace in our community.”
