July 21, 1922

The Gustine Guaranty State Bank was formally opened the previous week with deposits on the first day totaling $56,895.20. Officers of the new bank were: President J.M. Livingston, Vice Presidents J.W. Robinson and W.W. Wilson, Cashier J.L. White, Directors J.M. Livingston, H.G. Livingston, J.F. Bolton, J.W. Robinson and W.B. Conoway.

Due to other pressing business, R.W. Higginbotham announced his resignation as chairman of the board of directors of the Southwest National Bank at Dallas.

July 11, 1947

The newly organized Rotary Club of Dublin was presented a charter by Rotary International. It was reported that membership in Rotary clubs was at an all-time high as 421 new Rotary clubs had been organized in 16 countries in the last year.

The Dublin Hospital was benefitting from two recent improvements: a nursery with baby beds and a glass enclosure that separates the nursery from those wishing to view it; and a $1,500 autoclave that sterilized packs and all instruments.

The Alexander School Board had ordered an election for July 12 asking voters for the collection of $1.50 per $100 valuation (from an existing $1 rate). The extra taxes collected would reportedly cover the purchase of buses.

July 13, 1972

An open house was being held for North Park Manor in DeLeon, a modern 102-bed nursing home located on Highway 6 East across from the DeLeon Fair Grounds. Administrator for the facility was John Hodges.

Little League All-Stars were named during LL games at Fair Park. All Stars were: Rickey Moncrief, Larry Knapp, Pat Johnson, Mark Loving, Renny Rice, Ronnie Strube, Jeff Pate, Mike Jones, Randy Forsori, Jerry Stone, Bret Green-Dempsey, Dan Pair and Curtis Starnes.

July 17, 1997

On a 4-2 vote, the Dublin ISD Board of Trustees approved a $4 million bond election for the purpose of building a new high school. Projected coast for the facility was $6.4 million.
