100 years ago

July 29, 1921

A child aged two or three fell from the second story window of one of the local hotels. The child was reported to have been playing at the window and unlatched the window screen. The child received only a gash on its head that needed stitches but no further injuries resulted from the fall.

75 Years ago

Aug. 2, 1946

The Majestic Theatre was playing several movies. Friday was the last day to see “Renegades.” Saturday’s matinee and night show was “Home on the Range.” Sunday and Monday was “Dark Corner” and Tuesday and Wednesday was a double feature of “Three Strangers” and “The Navajo Kid.” Thursday and Friday showed “Clung Brown.”

50 years ago

July 22, 1971

July 1996

Mott’s Five and Dime advertised back to school supplies. The ad read “Back-To-School Supplies in one complete bag. List includes everything needed for Kindergarten through 5th grade at 10% off.” Mott’s Five and Dime was located at 106 N. Patrick.
