July 22, 1921
Two carloads of watermelons grown in Dublin were shipped to St. Louis. Twenty car loads of watermelons were expected to be shipped, which was the entire crop of watermelons. The melons were bought by Meyer Vasquez Produce Company at $9 a ton for watermelons weighing over 24 lbs and $7 a ton for melons weighing between 18 and 24 lbs.

July 22, 1971
The Dublin Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire at 615 North Patrick St. The house was fully engulfed in flames by the time they arrived and destroyed the residence. The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The house was owned by L.S. Pope of Grand Prairie and Earl Lammons family was in the process of vacating the home and moving to Comanche where they were the night of the fire. The Dublin VFD worked throughout Sunday and Monday to stop the fire and prevent further outbreak and on Tuesday the burning reoccurred and was promptly put out by the fire department.

A photo of three year old Tyler Green was on the front page of the newspaper. Green was wearing a cowboy hat and getting himself psyched up for the event he was participating in for Dublin’s Riding Club. Green was the winner in his age group.
