April 8, 1921

“The Microbe of Love” was presented at the Dublin auditorium. Mollie Moore Godbold, the author of the play personally directing the production. The play had been presented on professional stages in the area and throughout the US and was been very popular.

75 years

April 6, 1946

The Majestic Theatre advertised their weekly lineup. Friday played “Music for Millions” with Margaret O’Brien. I Saturday’s Matinee and Night show was “Tarzan’s Desert Mystery”. Sunday and Monday played “This Man’s Navy”. Tuesday and Wednesday was a double feature of “Between Two Women” and “The Pinto Bandit”. Thursday and Friday was “Wilson” in Technicolor.

50 years

April 8, 1971

Higginbotham’s was having a Special Tag Sale. Special tags were placed on items such as bedroom suites, furniture, mirrors, rugs and more with discounts ranging from 10 percent off to 40 percent off. 25 years

April 11, 1996

A photo featured Chuckee Harris crowned as Miss Texas Reject for a fundraiser benefitting the Volunteer Center of Erath County. The contest and fish fry raised $2,500 for the cause. Pictured in the photo is Harris, Dublin’s Band Director, who also won Miss Congeniality, Earl-line Gandy who won Best All Around (representing Dublin Dr. Pepper) and Curtis “Curtsy” Lewis was named Miss Hairiest (represented the Dublin Police Department).
