Local men were encouraged to take part in a rabbit drive on the Fulford Farm in Dublin, owned by L.W. Fulford. Rabbit drives were being staged in many Texas counties helping farmers get rid of the animals damaging their crops. “Getting together and killing them out is a thing of great importance to the country at this time, besides affording some good sport for hunters” reported the Dublin Progress.
