Tickets now on sale for Living Legends Hall of Fame event

The annual National Day of the Cowboy festivities are just around the corner and the Dublin Rodeo Heritage Museum has a big day planned for the community.

Events are set for Saturday, July 26 and the Dublin Economic Development Corp. is the title sponsor for the event.

The day will kick off from 10 a.m. to noon with inductions into the Living Legends Hall of Fame where Agriculture Commissioner and World Champion Calf Roper Sid Miller and World Champion Bullrider Ty Murray will both be inducted.

Admission to the event is $10 per person which goes to aid the Dublin Rodeo Heritage Museum. There are limited tickets available due to space constraints.

“We need to recognize our local living legends. It’s about keeping Erath County alive as well as the whole state,” organizer Rick Taylor said.

The museum is located at 118 W. Blackjack Street. Tickets can be secured by stopping by the museum or calling Rick Taylor.

The rest of the day’s activities will be held at the Dublin City Park located on Highland Avenue.

“Something different in the world of rodeo is represented throughout the day,” Taylor said. Activities and entertainment throughout the day is free, other than the bullriding which has an admission cost of $10 for adults. Children and veterans are free. Hamburgers and drinks will also be for sale at the event.

Entertainment will include: 1-1:20 p.m. Teresa Burleson 1:5-1:55 p.m. Devon Dawson 2-2:30 p.m. Kristyn Harris 2:30-4 p.m. The Bards and Balladeer (David Smith, Dustin West, Ed Meyer, Jim Cathy and John Pelham) 4-5 p.m. Cowgirl Swing (Kristyn Harrid, Teresa Burleson and Devon Dawson) 7:30 p.m. bullriding in the arena “I’d really like to see rodeo become more involved in this community again,” Taylor said.

The Cabalgata en Honor al Dia Nacional Del Vaquero Trail ride will also be taking place.

During the day, some of the original herd of Texas Longhorns from Fort Griffin will be present under the pavilion at the City Park for photos.

Those interested in becoming a vendor can call Taylor and vendor space is $50.

Those interested in riding in the bullriding event can also call Taylor and the entry fee is $100. Deadline is July 21.
