Friends and neighbors stopped by Three Oaks Assisted Living Friday to help the facility celebrate its 25th anniversary as it opened fully back open to the public.

Guests got to visit in an open house and were treated to a lunch with sausage and burgers.

“We’re here to celebrate 25 years and surviving this chaotic time,” said manager Jonna Alvarado.

The facility, located at 118 E. Live Oak, originally opened as a retirement center under manager Willard Mann and was named by owners Bobbie and Keith Nichols for the three oak trees that stood in front before they had to be removed during renovations in 2015.

Bobbie praised her daughter, Jonna, for continuing the legacy of quality senior care, a sentiment echoed by David Gilbreath, who was in attendance for the event. Gilbreath said the facility was like family and took great care of his father and uncle.

Nichols also pointed out that the facility in its its central Dublin location works well for the “social model” of assisted living.

“There is so much more independence and autonomy than a nursing home,” Nichols said

Alvarado stated her appreciation of the Dublin community and businesses that partner with the facility allowing them to serve residents event better.
