Sales Tax up in November

Body

Dublin sales tax collections were up again in January based on sales in November, with a 10.14% increase over last year.

The city saw November sales at $56,534.66 compared to $51,327.31, according to the state sales tax report released by Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock.

(Sales tax reports generally reflect sales from two months prior as the local sales are reported to the state which processes them and disburses sales tax back to the local entities.)

Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock said state sales tax revenue totaled $4.6 billion in January, 7.1 percent more than in January 2025. The majority of January sales tax revenue is based on sales made in December and remitted to the agency in January.

Total sales tax revenue for the three months ending in January 2026 was up 6.1 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Sales tax is the largest source of state funding for the state budget, accounting for 58 percent of all tax collections.
