Sales up at start of 2021

Dublin and the surrounding communities began 2021 on a high note according to the sales tax collection numbers release by the office of Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar in March.

March numbers represented sales made in January and reported during February.

Dublin experiences a slight bump of 3.37 percent higher sales in Juanuary than in January 2020, continuing a year-long trend of higher local sales that persisted through the pandemic. Other local cities also experienced growth compare to a year ago.

In announcing the number, Hegar reported he is distributing $762.5 million in local sales tax allocations across Texas for March, which is a reported 0.5 percent less than in March 2020.
