Rotary Blood Drive set for March 28

Body

Health officials with Texas-based Carter BloodCare report a blood transfusion takes place in the United States every two seconds.

It saves the lives of children fighting cancer, older adults with age-related issues, people injured in car accidents, trauma patients and many others.

This makes blood donors vital to the health and wellbeing of the community.

The perfect opportunity to donate locally will present itself Sunday, March 29 as the Dublin Rotary Club partners with CarterBlood Care.

The CarterBlood Care Bus will be on site from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, March 29 at The Station, located at 825 N. Patrick.

Eligibility to donate blood begins at age 16 with parental consent, and those 17 and older can donate on their own with Carter BloodCare. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds and feel well on the day of donation.

As a thank-you for donating blood in April, Carter BloodCare will give each donor a large quilted tote bag.
