Come join the rodeo elite this weekend as the annual Dublin Rodeo Heritage Association Annual Honoree Dinner is being held Saturday.

The dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at Rancho Viejo, located at 11875 S. FM 219 outside Dublin and will feature the screening of a special film.

There will be a catfish dinner and live entertainment by Teresa Burleson and Miss Devon Dawson.

New inductees will include Johnny Wayne Hampton, Row Hampton and Living Legends JJ Hampton and Jim Sharp.

There will also be a live auction benefitting the rodeo. The event serves as one of the major fundraisers for the museum and everyone is encouraged to attend, organizers said.

The museum is still accepting auction items through Friday, Sept. 13 for those who want to support the Dublin institution in preserving the legend of Everett Colborn and Gene Autry’s World’s Championship Rodeo headquartered at Dublin, Texas starting in 1937 to 1959. For over twenty years, the road to Madison Square Garden and other national rodeos began on the Lightning C Ranch at Dublin, Texas.

Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at the museum from 2-5 p.m. or at Second Time Around in Stephenville or by calling 254-459-0141.

Proceeds from the event will go toward keeping the museum alive and growing. The Dublin Rodeo Heritage Museum is located at 118 W. Blackjack.
