Those wanting to watch Saturday’s Christmas Parade will need to gather on Highland Avenue and Blackjack downtown since the parade route has been changed to accommodate the street construction on Patrick.
The annual Dublin Chamber of Commerce Lighted Christmas Parade is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 and will start at the City Park on Highland Avenue, travel down to Blackjack St. (Hwy. 6) and turn left. Then it will travel down to downtown and turn on Camden St. and stop. Parade lineup will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the City Park.
The parade is part of the chamber’s Cowboy Christmas event which will kick off at 11 a.m. Saturday with vendors at Celebration Park located next to Dublin Bottling Works. Vendors will be open from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the chamber recently dropped all vendor fees as a way to say ‘Merry Christmas’ to the community.
Anyone wanting to be a vendor for the event can do so by registering online at www.dublintxchamber.com, calling (254) 445-3422 or showing up the morning of the event starting at 9 a.m.
Dublin Market Days will also have vendors at Wright Park this weekend from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. helping everyone find those special holiday gifts.
Right after the Christmas parade, everyone is invited over to Wright Park to participate in the 2nd annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony hosted by the Dublin Lions Club.
The Church of the Lost and Found will be providing hot cocoa, the Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club will be providing homemade cookies and there will be music.
At 7 p.m. the Dandi-Lions will be performing at Doublin’ In located at the corner of Elm and Grafton and at 7:30 p.m. Lindsay Hightower will perform. From 7 to 8:30 p.m. Santa Claus and The Grinch will be at Doublin’ In.
In case of inclement weather, Santa and The Grinch will be moved indoors to the chamber office located at 112 S. Grafton St. The parade is rain or shine.
Texas Sage will also be hosting a Chili Cookoff this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The nursery and gift store is located at 2554 W. State Hwy. 6 in Dublin.
