Program honoring historic Stephenville houses

DHS Grad Chris Teten is now serving as backup quarterback in the 2025 McMurry Warhawks roster after he decided to return to the gridiron last year. Teten is known as “one of the most coachable young men to ever come through the program,” according to a spotlight on the Coaches Corner Facebook group. A new program is looking to recognize Stephenville homes that are at least 100 years old.

Local historian Marla Bush has partnered with Baskett Mortgage Services to recognize old, beautiful homes in the area.

“Stephenville has so many beautiful older homes, we’re going to showcase those with a 100-year home medallion,” Bush said.

“Upon completion of a brief application, homes 100 years or older will be awarded. A brilliant yard sign will designate each property approved at no cost to the owner.”
