Primary filings now underway

Filing is underway for the March 2026 races with several people filing during the opening days.

With filing beginning Nov. 8 and ending Dec. 8, the following individuals have already filed in the Republican Primary.

Brandon Huckabee has filed to retain his seat as county judge.

Blake Thompson has filed to retain his seat as County Court of Law Judge.

Wanda Greer has filed to retain her seat as District Clerk.

Gwinda Jones has filed to retain her seat as County Clerk.

Angie Shawver has filed to retain her seat as County Treasurer.

Precinct 2 County Commissioner is already a challenged race with incumbent Albert Ray being challenged by Dale Spurlen.

Jim Buck has filed to retain his seat for Precinct 4 County Commissioner.

Both Justice of the Peace seats are up this year and so far only Dionicia Azua has filed for the Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 seat held by David Martin. Martin plans to file.

Chili Alexander has filed for re-election for Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, 3 and 4.
