Pool opens with new rules

Splishing and splashing will officially be available Saturday as the Dublin City Pool opens for the season Saturday, May 25.

Pool hours are Tuesday noon to 8 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday noon to 5 p.m. and the pool is closed on Monday.

Cash only entrance fees are $3 for swimmers 3 and over and free for non-swimmers and 2 and under kids.

According to the 2024 Pool Rules and guidelines, the city reserves the right to refuse admittance into the pool when the capacity of the pool has been reached or when otherwise deemed necessary for the health, welfare, or safety of the guests.

The pool is also available for rental Wednesday through Sunday.

Hours are 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for $150 or $300 for a four hour block of time from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Reservations are made on a first come, first serve basis and must be paid in full at the time of scheduling.

Pool rules for 2024 include: All swimmers entering the pool must pay or present a pass. No person may use the pool unless it is officially open, and lifeguards are on duty Dublin City Pool does not issue daily entry fee refunds for any reason including; inclement weather, water quality closings, medical conditions, etc.

Admission to the pool may be denied for any of the following reasons: a. Intoxication. No alcohol at the park or inside the pool area. Lifeguards are permitted to check all coolers, bags, and any containers. b. Open sores, wounds, skin infections, and nasal or ear discharge. Do not swim if you have been ill with diarrhea within the past 2 weeks. c. Any condition or evidence, which in the opinion of the Head Lifeguard or designee will jeopardize the health and safety of other Guests.

Absolutely no swimming without a lifeguard on duty.

No Diving at any time! Any patron found diving into the pool will be automatically asked to leave the pool.

No running, pushing, fighting or rough play of any kind will be tolerated. It could cause undue disturbance, or endanger the welfare of self or other guests.

Changing diapers within 6 feet of the pool is prohibited.

Children eleven (11) years of age and under shall be accompanied and directly supervised by a Responsible Person.

Note: A “Responsible Person” is a person sixteen (16) years of age and older capable of caring for a child at the City Pool. a. Sixteen (16) and seventeen (17) year olds can supervise up to 2 children under the age of eleven (11). b. An eighteen (18) year old and older can supervise up to 5 children under the age of eleven (11).

A Responsible Person shall stay within reach of a child under the age of 6 at all times.

Extended breath holding activities are dangerous and prohibited. Breath holding can lead to fainting, seizure, and potentially even brain damage and/or death.

A swim test will be conducted at the discretion of the lifeguards. If a swimmer does not pass the test, they must stay in water that is not over their shoulders.

Flotation devices will be permitted at the lifeguard’s discretion. Flotation devices that are allowed: Pool noodles, floaties, life vest, inflatable beach balls, or sponge balls. Not allowed: Water rafts or inner tubes.

Proper swimming attire is required to enter the pool. No cut-offs jeans, thongs or revealing swim wear. Clothing with plastic or metal rivets, zippers or ornamentation are not allowed in the pool. Clothing that is revealing or has vulgar content is not permitted.

No public display of affection is allowed and profanity is prohibited and will not be tolerated.

Infants/children under the age of 3 are required to wear swim diapers.

Food and drinks are permitted inside pool area, not inside the pool. The patron is responsible for picking up trash and cleaning area. The city reserves the right to search coolers, bags and containers, for prohibited items.

Glass containers, breakable objects, weapons, illegal controlled substances of any kind, are not permitted inside the pool area, restrooms, or outside surrounding pool areas.

Children under 48 inches tall must be supervised by an adult age 18 or older, while using the slide(s). For the safety the guests using the slide, the city will enforce the slide rules recommended by the manufacturer.

All pool rules will be observed during private events and no alcohol is permitted. For parties held at the pool: Guest holding party will be responsible for cleaning inside pool area and bathrooms the last 30 minutes of their scheduled time.
