St. Pat’s Spectators will have plenty of live entertainment to keep them busy on Saturday with acts at both the Corner Lot and Wright Park pavilion.
Corner Lot
The Corner Lot will kick off with live music by Tell Runyan, a local vocalist and guitarist, specializing in American and alternative country from 11 a.m. to noon. This is followed by a meet and greet with the Miss Dublin Court.
The royalty will be followed by the harmonies of the Sweet Memories Barbershop Quartet from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Christine Anderson (who has performed with her harp on several occasions in Dublin and Robin Anderson will be providing music.
At 2 p.m., the Corner Lot will host St. Pat’s headliner: Damhsa Na Gealach (also known as Moondance).
Damhsa Na Gealach (Pronounced like: ‘Dowsa Nah Galak’ and means ‘Dance of the Moon’) is a traditional Irish music group from Letterkenny, Donegal, Ireland and based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The band currently includes:
■ Saoirse Ní Ceandaill (voice, flute, whistle, guitar) Playing Irish Trad Music from an early age in Co. Donegal, Ireland. Saoirse has played with many famous Donegal musicians in many well known venues as Teach Huidí Beag’s, Leo’s Tavern, Matt Molloy’s Temple Bar, Trinity College Dublin, McGettigan’s (formerly Gallagher’s), The Brewery, etc. Recently played with Gan Ainm S c a r b o r o u g h Renaissance Festival for five seasons.
■ Nathainiel Dáithí (flute, whistle, guitar, didgeridoo, bodhrán, tabla), First Place Winner in many Championship Feiseanna, Nathainiel has played with O’Flaherty’s Youth, O’Flaherty’s Irish Music Retreat, John Skelton (The House Band), Jonathan Milton (Ériu), Kevin Crawford (Lúnasa), and many others.
■ Dainéal Ó Ceandaill (bodhrán, whistle, mandolin) Playing Irish Trad music and competing in many feiseanna early on, Dainéal brings a love of music, heaps of craic, and a steady rythym to every performance.
■ Séamus Rós (bodhrán, rhythm) Former cast member at Scarborough Renaissance Festival
Former Members And Guest Musicians Have included: Seán Micheál (guitar), Áinemáire Ní Cheandaill (fiddle, concertina), Linda Relph (fiddle), Albert Alfonso (Bodhrán), Keyreel Raskolenko (fiddle), Caitríana Ní Cheandaill (whistle, cajon), and others.
Damhsa Na Gealach will take you back to your ancient Celtic roots. Their deep love and history with the music, combined with rich experience playing with many internationally famous Irish groups and musicians, create a sound rooted in stone circles that veers toward the modern. Their music is powerful, energetic, and emotionally stirring – taking you to a place between the worlds.
After Moondance finishes at 3 p.m., Keegan McInroe (the master of ceremonies for the Corner Lot schedule), will perform, showcasing his unique blend of old country, blues, gospel and rock and roll.
Wright Pavilion
Visitors to the Wright Park from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. will get an extended showcase of Tell Runyan’s musical talents sandwiched between performances of the Dublin Linedancers from noon to 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
