The Dublin Chamber of Commerce hosted an open, community-minded Bloomin’ Business Banquet Friday night in Dublin City Park, honoring local volunteers and business leaders and providing family fun to the public.
Two bounce houses were installed near the basketball court where attendees enjoyed a BBQ meal prepared by La Taquiza. There were also corn hole boards for bean bag tossers and putters available for those who wanted to take in a round of miniature golf.
There was an abundance of chairs and tables on hand for guests thanks to the contributions of Keith Riley, First National Bank, Bobby Mendez, the city of Dublin, Assembly of God Church and Cottonwood Church.
Generous donors also provided more than a dozen items for the silent auction, raising money for the Chamber of Commerce’s efforts in the community.
Interim Dublin Chamber of Commerce Director Amy McDonald stated her appreciation to everyone for their attendance and help, saying the picnic style event was to celebrate the recent growth of Dublin business and the potential for it to keep growing through the hard work and support of the Dublin community.
Awards were presented to the following:
■ Citizens of the Year Donna and Steve Hightower, in recognition of the decades of service the couple have given as volunteers and business leaders of Dublin Insurance and Titan Fitness
