On July 4, about 25 people met in what will likely be the final in-person meeting of the Comanche County Comprehensive Plan project sponsored by the Targeting Texas Communities program of Texas A&M University.

The meeting was held at the DeLeon City Hall auditorium and included business owners and civic, educational and healthcare representatives from DeLeon, Comanche and Gustine.

Initially, a plan update was presented. The plan itself is “a long range guidebook” planning for the next 20-30 years, depicting an overarching vision that will help public officials make future decisions. The plan also opens new funding opportunities through grants and other means.
